Welcome to the wonderful world of Hallmark Barbie ornaments.  Barbie has been America's most famous fashion doll for over 50 years.  The first Barbie doll was introduced in 1959.  It makes since that the first Hallmark ornament in the Barbie series represents that doll.  It is called Debut Barbie 1959 and was sculpted by Patricia Andrews.
There is also a brunette Debut Barbie 1959 that was part of the 1995 Collector's Club Membership kit.

Hallmark created several ornaments

The Holiday Barbie series was started in 1993.  Mattel would send pictures of their upcoming Happy Holiday Barbie doll to Hallmark so that the new ornament could be modeled after the doll.  The Holiday Barbie 1997 ornament (pictured) was particularly difficult to design.  The dress required lace to be sewn onto the dress and the ribbon.  It was Patricia Andrews' "most challenging" Holiday Barbie ornament.

The Celebration Barbie Series was created in 2000.  This series of Keepsake ornaments features elaborate formal ensembles that represent the ultimate in popular Barbie fashion.


The Barbie Dolls of the World series features ornaments representing Native American Barbie (1996), Chinese Barbie (1997) Mexican Barbie (1998) and the final ornament in series Russian Barbie (1999).

Other Barbie Series include Springtime Barbie and Birthday Wishes Barbie.
